Removal And Installation

- Remove the driver air bag module. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
- Disconnect the steering wheel switch electrical connector from the clockspring.
- Detach the steering wheel switch wiring from the retainers and position the wires aside.
- Remove the steering wheel bolt.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Using the special tool, remove the steering wheel.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
Do not allow the special tool to damage the steering wheel switch wires and connector while removing the steering wheel.
