External Controls
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Mercury Mariner and 2010 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The external control of the Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT) is mechanically controlled by a cable connected to the selector lever and electronically controlled by the TR sensor (located in the selector lever assembly). The selector lever position determines PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE and LOW modes.
