Manual Control Lever Shaft and Seal: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING - 2.3L article or INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING - 3.0L (4V) article.
- Disconnect the selector lever cable end.
- Disconnect the Transmission Control Module (TCM) electrical connector.
- Remove the manual control lever nut.
- Remove the manual control lever.
- Remove the bolts and remove the TCM.
- Using a suitable pick, remove the manual control lever seal.
