Removal and Installation

NOTE: The adjustable pedal assembly is shown, the fixed pedal assembly is similar.
  1. If equipped with adjustable pedals, position them to the full forward position.
  2. Remove the 3 steering column opening cover bolts and the cover.
    • To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
  3. Remove the 2 steering column opening reinforcement bolts and the reinforcement.
    • To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
  4. Remove the LH side demister duct.
  5. Disconnect the steering intermediate shaft upper bolt and position the shaft aside.
    • To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
  6. Remove the redundant self-locking clip cover and self-locking clip.
  7. Position the brake pedal position (BPP) switch, booster rod, and bushing off the brake pedal.
  8. If equipped with adjustable pedals, release the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal arm.
    1. Release the accelerator cable from the plastic plunger.
    2. Release the plastic plunger from the accelerator pedal arm.

  9. If equipped with adjustable pedals, disconnect the adjustable pedal motor electrical connector at the top of the bracket.
  10. Remove the 4 brake booster nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  11. Remove the 2 upper brake pedal bracket bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  12. Remove the brake pedal and bracket assembly.
  13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
