Pinpoint Test A: The Climate Control Illumination Is Inoperative - Front Or Rear (If Equipped)

  1. A1 CHECK THE ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT 1417 (LG/RD) FOR VOLTAGE
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Inoperative Climate Control Assembly.
    • Place the headlamp switch in the ON position.
    • Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the full illumination position.
    • Measure the voltage between the front climate control assembly C294a-2, circuit 1417 (LG/RD), harness side; and between the RICP C9025-17, circuit 1417 (LG/RD), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
    • Yes  : GO to A2  .
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. A2 CHECK CIRCUITS 1203 (BK/LB) AND 1205 (BK) FOR GROUND
    • Measure the resistance between the front climate control assembly C294a-1, circuit 1203 (BK/LB), harness side; and between the RICP C9025-7, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground.
