Instrument Cluster Self-Test

To enter the instrument cluster self-test press E/M and SELECT buttons simultaneously while turning the ignition switch from OFF to ON. If the instrument cluster flashes on and off continuously, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .

If the instrument cluster displays:

• Only the top and bottom two coolant temperature gauge display bars, diagnose the coolant temperature gauge system.
• Only the top and bottom two fuel gauge display bars, diagnose the fuel gauge system.
• Only the bottom engine temperature gauge display bar, diagnose the engine temperature gauge system.
• CS or CO, diagnose the fuel level sender input circuitry.
• Error in the odometer display, diagnose the speedometer/odometer circuitry.
