Test T: Door Ajar Indicator Inoperative (Chime Operative)
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Smart Entry Control (SEC)/timer module 22-pin harness connector C2032a. SEC/timer module is located behind upper center of instrument panel. Connect a fused 10-amp jumper wire between ground and SEC/timer module harness connector C2032a terminal No. 22 (Brown/White wire). See Fig 1. If door ajar indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If door ajar indicator illuminates, repair door ajar circuits as necessary. See ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Disconnect instrument cluster 12-pin harness connector C266a. Measure resistance of Brown/White wire between instrument cluster harness connector C266a terminal No. 1 and SEC/timer module harness connector C2032a terminal No. 22. See Figure and Fig 1
. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Brown/White wire.
- Disconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Inspect for corroded or pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Operate system and verify if concern still exists. If concern still exists, replace instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . If concern does not exist, system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
