Test L: High Beam Indicator Inoperative

Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn high beam headlights on. If high beam headlights operate properly, go to next step. If high beam headlights do not operate properly, repair headlights as necessary. See HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS article.
Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster 22-pin harness connector C266b. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn high beam headlights on. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster harness connector C266b terminal No. 4 (Orange/Blue wire). See Figure. If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Orange/Blue wire between instrument cluster and Lighting Control Module (LCM). LCM is located behind lower center of instrument panel.
Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster harness connector C266b terminal No. 20 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between instrument cluster and ground point. Ground point is located behind right side of instrument panel.
Disconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Inspect for corroded or pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Operate system and verify if concern still exists. If concern still exists, replace instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . If concern does not exist, system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
