Test K: Right Turn Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Place multifunction switch in right turn position. If outside right turn signal operates, go to next step. If outside right turn signal does not operate properly, repair turn signals as necessary. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster 22-pin harness connector C266b. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Place multifunction switch in right turn position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster harness connector C266b terminal No. 12 (Red/White wire). See Figure. If voltage alternates between zero and 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage does not alternate between zero and 10 volts, repair open or short in Red/White wire between instrument cluster and multifunction switch.
  3. Disconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Inspect for corroded or pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Operate system and verify if concern still exists. If concern still exists, replace instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . If concern does not exist, system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
