Self-Diagnostic System

To enter Hybrid Electronic Cluster (HEC) self-diagnostics, press instrument cluster trip odometer reset button before turning ignition switch to RUN position. Within 5-8 seconds, odometer will display "tESt". Trip odometer reset button must be released within 3 seconds of odometer displaying "tESt" then, repeatedly press trip odometer reset button through odometer displays. Press trip odometer reset button again and any continuous diagnostic trouble codes will be displayed before odometer advances to next display. See HYBRID ELECTRONIC CLUSTER SELF-DIAGNOSTIC MODES  table. To exit instrument cluster self-test mode, turn ignition switch to LOCK position.

Odometer Display Description
GAGE Activates Sweep Of All Gauges: Displays Present Gauge Values; Performs ROM & EE Checksum Tests
All Segments Illuminated Carries Out A Gauge Sweep Of All Gauges To 45° From Rest Position; Illuminates All Odometer Segments
bulb Illuminates LOW FUEL Warning Light
r Returns To Normal Operation All Micro-Controlled Lights & Leds; Displays Hexadecimal Values For ROM.
nr Displays Hexadecimal Value For ROM Level Type MSP & LSB As Stored In VNM
EE Displays Hexadecimal Value For EE; Flashes Alternating FAIL & EE Level Messages

If Value Displayed Is 000-009, Circuit Is Shorted; Normal Range Will Be 10-254; If Value Displayed Is 250, Gauge Should Read Full. If Value Displayed Is 30, Gauge Should Read Empty
FP ### Displays present fuel level percent status in decimals. Display will read between 0 and 254 for normal range with 255 indicating an open or short.
