Test Q: Cruise Control Indicator Never On
- Road test vehicle and verify cruise control operation. If cruise control operates properly, go to next step. If cruise control does not operate properly, repair cruise control system as necessary. See CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS - VILLAGER
article.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Gain access to cruise control actuator module. Cruise control actuator module is located below left side of instrument panel. Disconnect cruise control actuator module harness connector C247. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C266c. Measure resistance of Red/Yellow wire between terminal No. 12 at instrument cluster harness connector C266c and terminal No. 4 cruise control actuator module harness connector C247. See Figure and Fig 1
. Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 12 (Red/Yellow wire) at instrument cluster harness connector C266c. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If resistance measurements are as specified, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system. If resistance measurements are not as specified, repair open or short to ground in Red/Yellow wire.
