Test O: Low Washer Fluid Indicator Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect washer fluid level switch connector at washer fluid reservoir. Measure resistance between washer fluid level switch terminals (component side). If resistance is less than 5 ohms with float depressed and more than 10 k/ohms with float released, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more with float depressed or 10 k/ohms or less with float released, replace washer fluid level switch.
  2. Measure resistance between ground and washer fluid level switch Black wire terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
  3. Ensure ignition is off. Remove instrument cluster. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C267C. Measure resistance of Green/Black wire between washer fluid level switch and instrument cluster connector C267C terminal No. 2. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Green/Black wire. Retest system.
