Rear Brake Shoes: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove brake drum. If brake drum is difficult to remove, pry off access hole plug, located behind baking plate. Using screwdriver or Brake Adjustment Tool (D81L-1103-C) or equivalent, back off adjuster screw. Disconnect parking brake cable from parking brake lever. Remove upper and lower retracting spring. Remove 2 brake shoe hold-down springs and pins. Remove brake shoes from backing plate. Remove parking brake lever clip and washer. Remove parking brake lever from trailing shoe.
