Brake COMPENSATOR Port
- Raise and support front of vehicle. With brakes off, try to rotate both front wheels by hand. To minimize brake pad drag, rock wheel on spindle as it is rotated. If excessive brake drag is apparent at both wheels, the master cylinder may not be returning to released position. If excessive brake drag is apparent at only one wheel, inspect for a possible seized caliper piston.
- Check stoplight switch adjustment to ensure switch is not holding brake pedal in partially applied position. See STOPLIGHT SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS. If necessary, adjust stoplight switch.
- Loosen nuts attaching master cylinder to power brake booster and pull master cylinder away from booster. If brake drag disappears, power brake booster is dragging and should be replaced. If brake drag continues, replace master cylinder.
