Test P: Safety Belt Warning Inoperative (Chime Operative)
- Disconnect safety belt buckle switch 2-pin connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between ground and safety belt buckle switch 2-pin connector Green wire terminal. Turn ignition on. If safety belt light illuminates, go to next step. If safety belt light does not illuminate, go to step 3.
- Turn ignition switch off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C266C. Measure resistance of Green wire between washer fluid level switch and instrument cluster connector C266C terminal No. 11. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Green wire. Retest system.
- Measure resistance between ground and safety belt buckle switch Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace safety belt buckle switch. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
