Fuel Sending Unit

  1. Remove fuel pump/sending unit assembly. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Measure resistance between Blue/Red and Black wire terminals on fuel pump module while adjusting fuel tank float to positions as specified See Fig 1. See FLOAT POSITION RESISTANCE  table.

    Float Position - In. (mm) Resistance (Ohms)
    1 - (Empty) 5.94 (151) 15
    2 - (1/2) 3.66 (93) 78
    3 - (Full) 0.91 (23) 160
  3. Gradually move float and monitor resistance for even change. If resistance change is erratic or not as specified, replace fuel pump sending unit.
