Test T: Safety Belt Warning Never/Always On

Ensure driver and passenger shoulder belts are buckled. Unbuckle driver lap belt. Cycle ignition on then off. Buckle driver lap belt. Turn ignition on. If seat belt chime sounds when driver lap belt is unbuckled and no warning chime sounds when driver lap belt is buckled, go to next step. If chime is not as described, see appropriate WARNING SYSTEMS wiring diagrams in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the WIRING DIAGRAMS section.
Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove seat belt warning light bulb and check continuity of bulb. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system. If bulb is bad, replace bulb and retest system.
