Test S: Low Washer Fluid Warning Light Never/Always On
NOTE:
If low washer fluid light is always on, start test at step 2).
- Turn ignition switch off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove low washer fluid warning light bulb and check continuity of bulb. If bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is bad, replace bulb and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect washer fluid level switch 2-pin connector at washer fluid reservoir. Measure resistance between washer fluid level switch terminals. If resistance is less than 5 ohms with float depressed and more than 10 k/ohms with float released, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more with float depressed or 10 k/ohms or less with float released, replace washer fluid level switch.
- Measure resistance between ground and washer fluid level switch Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
- Disconnect instrument cluster connector C268. Measure resistance of Green/Black wire between washer fluid level switch and instrument cluster connector C268 terminal No. 1. See Figure - Figure . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster connector C268 terminal No. 1 (Green/Black wire). Resistance should be more than 10 k/ohms. If resistance measurements are as specified, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system. If resistance measurements are not as specified, repair Green/Black wire. Retest system.
