Test N: Turn & High Beam Indicators Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect instrument cluster connectors C266 and C270. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster connectors C266 terminal No. 1 and C270 terminal No. 1 (Black wires). See Figure - Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. Refer to PRINTED CIRCUIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  2. Remove Green diode strip from diode junction box located behind fuse panel. Measure resistance of Black wire between instrument cluster connectors C266 terminal No. 1 and diode junction box No. 2 connector terminal No. 32. See Figure . Measure resistance of Black wire between instrument cluster connectors C270 terminal No. 1 and diode junction box No. 2 connector C2010 terminal No. 14. If resistance in both measurements is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance in either measurement is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate Black wire.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and diode junction box No. 2 connector terminals No. 15 and No. 33 (Black wires). If resistance in both measurements is less than 5 ohms, replace Green diode strip. If resistance in either measurement is 5 ohms or more, repair open in appropriate Black wire.
