Test B: Display Does Not Respond To Buttons

Turn ignition off. Disconnect message center switch module connector C264. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and message center switch module connector C264, pin No. 3 (Blue wire). If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Blue wire.

Turn ignition off. Reconnect message center switch module connector. Remove instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Disconnect instrument cluster connector C272. See Figure . Measure voltage between ground and specified connector C272 pin after pressing corresponding message center button. See MESSAGE CENTER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE. If voltage is 10 volts or more in all tests, replace instrument cluster. If any voltage is less than 10 volts, record failed circuit(s) and go to next step.

⁽¹⁾	Voltage should be 10 volts or more when selected button is pressed.

Turn ignition off. Disconnect message center switch module connector C264. See Fig 1 . Measure resistance of circuits that failed in step 2) between specified connector C272 pin and corresponding message center button pin. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between message center button pins and ground. Resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms. If resistances are as specified, replace message center switch module. If resistances are not as specified, repair faulty circuit.
