Test Ac: Low Oil Pressure Warning Never/Always On

Check engine oil pressure. If oil pressure is okay, go to next step. If oil pressure is low, repair or replace engine as necessary.
Turn ignition off. Disconnect oil pressure sensor connector. Measure resistance between ground and oil pressure sensor connector Red wire. With engine running and off, the readings should be as follows:
- With ignition on and engine off, less than 5 ohms should be present.
- With engine running, more than 10,000 ohms should be present.
If resistances are as specified, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, replace oil pressure sensor.
Leave ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Remove low oil pressure indicator bulb. Check for continuity between indicator bulb terminals. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, replace bulb.
Leave ignition off and oil pressure sensor disconnected. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C276. See Figure . Measure resistance between instrument cluster connector C276, pin No. 17 (Red wire) and oil pressure sensor connector Red wire. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster connector C276, pin No. 17 (Red wire). If resistance between instrument cluster connector and sensor connector is less than 5 ohms, and greater than 10,000 ohms between instrument cluster connector and ground, replace instrument cluster. If resistances are not as specified, repair open or short in Red wire.
