Temperature Gauge

NOTE: The temperature gauge is part of fuel/temperature gauge assembly. Neither of these gauges is serviceable separately. If either gauge malfunctions, assembly must be replaced.
  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Using a jumper, connect coolant temperature gauge "B" terminal to battery voltage and the coolant temperature gauge "G" terminal to ground. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
  3. Connect one lead of Rotunda Instrument Gauge Tester (014-R1063), or equivalent, to the "S" terminal of coolant temperature gauge and the other lead to the "G" terminal of coolant temperature gauge. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
  4. Adjust instrument gauge tester to resistance values shown in Fig. Fig 2 . If coolant gauge does not indicate as specified, replace temperature/fuel gauge assembly.
