Brake Pedal Free Play

With engine off, depress brake pedal several times to eliminate vacuum in power booster. Depress brake pedal until resistance is felt and measure amount of free play. Brake pedal free play should be 0.039-0.118" (1.0-3.0 mm). If free play is not within specification, loosen brake pedal push rod lock nut and turn push rod until free play is correct.
