Pinpoint Test X - Low Washer Fluid Warning Never/Always On

Turn ignition on. Wait until prove-out cycle is completed. If warning indicator is always on, go to next step. If warning indicator is never on, turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Remove indicator bulb. Check for continuity between indicator bulb terminals. If continuity is not present, replace bulb. If continuity is present, go to next step.
Turn ignition off. Disconnect windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor connector. Measure resistance between windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor terminals as follows:
- With float on bottom of reservoir, resistance should be less than 5 ohms.
- With float not on bottom of reservoir, resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms.
If resistances are as specified, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, replace windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor.
Leave ignition off and sensor disconnected. Measure resistance between sensor connector Black wire terminal and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair Black wire circuit.
Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C1. Measure resistance of Green/Black wire between connector C1, pin No. 2 and windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor connector. Measure resistance of Green/Black wire between connector C1, pin No. 2 and ground. If resistance between instrument cluster connector and sensor connector is less than 5 ohms, and greater than 10,000 ohms between instrument cluster connector and ground, replace instrument cluster. If resistances are not as specified, repair Green/Black wire circuit.
