Pinpoint Test B - Display Does Not Respond To Buttons

Turn ignition off. Disconnect message center switch module connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and message center switch module connector pin No. 3 (Blue wire). If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Blue wire circuit.

Turn ignition off. Reconnect message center switch module connector. Remove instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Disconnect instrument cluster connector C3. Measure voltage between ground and specified connector C3 terminal after pressing corresponding message center button. See MESSAGE CENTER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS table. If voltage measurements are okay, replace instrument cluster. If any voltage measurements are less than 10 volts, record failed circuit(s) and go to next step.

⁽¹⁾	Voltage should be 10 volts when selected button is pressed.

Turn ignition off. Disconnect message center switch module connector. Measure resistance of circuits that failed in step 2) between specified connector C3 terminal and corresponding message center button terminal. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between message center button terminals and ground. Resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms. If resistances are as specified, replace message center switch module. If resistances are not as specified, repair faulty circuit.
