Coolant Temperature Gauge
- Remove the instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Using a jumper, connect the coolant temperature gauge "B" terminal to the battery positive terminal and the coolant temperature gauge "G" terminal to the battery negative terminal. See Fig 1
.
- Connect one lead of the Rotunda Instrument Gauge System Tester 021-00055 or equivalent to the "S" terminal of the coolant temperature gauge and the other lead to the "G" terminal of the coolant temperature gauge. See Fig 1
.
- Adjust the instrument gauge system tester to the resistances shown in Fig 2
.
- If the coolant temperature gauge does not operate as specified, replace the coolant temperature gauge (part of fuel gauge). See COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the coolant temperature gauge is OK, return to symptom test.
