AH1: Check Safety Belt Warning Chime

Buckle both the left hand and right hand shoulder belts. Unbuckle driver side lap belt. Turn the ignition key to the ON position, then to the OFF position. Buckle the drivers side lap belt, and turn the ignition key to the ON position. Does safety belt warning chime sound when lap belt is unbuckled and no warning chime sound when lap belt is buckled? If yes, go to the next step. If no, check the fuse, the system, short to ground, the left hand safety buckle switch circuit and switch to ground.
