Warning Chime System
The warning chime is mounted to the instrument panel directly behind the electronic instrument cluster. The warning chime system functions in the following ways:
- Key Reminder Chime
The warning chime sounds if the key is in the ignition when the driver's door is opened. - Lamps-On Reminder Chime
The warning chime sounds if the headlamps or parking lamps are on after the key is removed from the ignition and the driver door is opened. - Seat Belt Warning Chime
The warning chime sounds, for four to eight seconds, simultaneously with the illumination of the seat belt warning lamp if the left front shoulder belt and left lap belt are not fastened when the ignition is turned to ON. However, if the left shoulder belt and left lap belt are fastened prior to placing the ignition switch in the ON position, the seat belt chime is canceled. The seat belt warning lamp remains illuminated until the left front shoulder belt is fastened.
