Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)

When a fault is detected by the powertrain control system, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) grounds terminal No. 24 at the PCM harness connector. Current flows through the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) via the Gray/Red wire and the PCM, causing the indicator to illuminate.
