Coolant Temperature Gauge
The temperature gauge is integrated into the electronic instrument cluster. The temperature gauge display is identified by a thermometer symbol. H (hot) indicates high temperature, C (cold) indicates low temperature, and NORMAL indicates the engine coolant temperature based upon a resistance sent by the temperature gauge sender.
As engine coolant temperature increases, successive bars on the gauge will illuminate in response to temperature changes. See .
As coolant temperature changes, resistance of the coolant temperature sender changes. The seven segment bar graph coolant temperature gauge responds to the change in resistance by increasing or decreasing the number of segments that light up. When the sender resistance is 30 ohms, all seven segments are lit. When the sender resistance is at 1150 ohms, only the first segment is lit.
