Instrument Panel Reinforcement Bar: Installation

1. Install the instrument panel reinforcement bar. Tighten the instrument panel reinforcement bar upper bolts. Tighten the instrument panel reinforcement bar nuts. Tighten the instrument panel reinforcement bar bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
2. Install the two console brackets and tighten the two left hand and the two right hand console bracket nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
3. Install the U-bracket. Tighten the four U-bracket bolts. Tighten the three U-bracket-to-chassis nuts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
4. Install the ABS control module bracket screw.
5. Attach the harness to the U-bracket.
6. Install the heater unit housing-to-instrument panel reinforcement bar bolt.
7. Install the shift-lock relay/flasher module bracket screw.
8. Install the two parking brake release lever screws.
9. Install the interior fuse panel screw.
10. Position the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), the Transaxle Control Module, and the PCM/TCM bracket to the instrument panel reinforcement bar and install the PCM/TCM bracket bolts.
11. Connect the Transaxle Control Module (TCM) electrical connector and tighten the TCM electrical connector bolt until the red projection appears.
12. Connect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connector and tighten the PCM electrical connector bolt until the red projection appears.
13. Position the ground wires to the U-bracket and install the ground bolts.
14. Attach the antenna cable and the diversity antenna wire, if equipped, to the instrument panel reinforcement bar.
15. Attach the electrical harness to the instrument panel reinforcement bar.
16. Attach the oil level timer module to its bracket.
17. Install the floor duct and the two floor duct screws.
18. Install the right hand register duct and the right hand register duct screw.
19. Install the center register duct and the two center register duct screws.
20. Install the left hand register duct and the left hand register duct screw.
21. Install the instrument panel. Refer to the procedure in this section.
