Tachometer, Oil Pressure, Coolant Temperature Gauges/Warning Lamps: Tachometer

The analog tachometer displays engine speed in revolutions per minute (RPM). The tachometer range is zero to 8000 RPM.

The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor, which is built into the distributor, monitors engine speed and sends a sine wave signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM transforms the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal into a digital signal, which is sent to the analog tachometer.
