Oil Pressure Warning Lamp

The oil pressure warning lamp is identified by an oil can symbol on the analog instrument cluster. The oil pressure warning lamp illuminates during prove out (ignition in the ON position). The lamp will go out after the engine starts if the oil pressure is normal.

Oil pressure is monitored by the low oil pressure switch, which is located on the oil filter adapter. When the oil pressure falls to approximately 5 psi (34 kPa), the low oil pressure switch closes the oil pressure warning lamp circuit, and the oil pressure warning lamp illuminates.
