Tie Rod: Removal
- Raise vehicle on a frame contact hoist using lift pads located to rear of front wheels and lift pads forward of rear wheels. Raise hoist only enough to contact body. From inside trunk, loosen, but DO NOT remove, 2 strut top mount-to-body nuts.
- Raise vehicle and place safety stand under suspension for support. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove 2 top mount nuts. Remove nut retaining tie rod to spindle. Remove nut retaining tie rod to body. Lower safety stand enough so upper strut mount studs are out of holes in body. Move spindle rearward so tie rod can be removed.
