Removal & Installation: Spindle: Removal

  1. Raise vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove brake drum. Remove brake flex hose bracket-to-strut bolt. Remove 4 brake backing plate-to-spindle bolts. DO NOT stretch brake hose or damage metal brake line.
  2. Remove brake backing plate from spindle, and wire it out of way. Remove control arm to spindle bolt, washers and nut. Remove tie rod nut, bushing and washer. Remove 2 bolts retaining spindle to strut and remove spindle.
