Master Cylinder: Disassembly
- Clean outside of master cylinder. Remove fluid reservoir cap. Drain all brake fluid from master cylinder. Clamp master cylinder in vise at mounting flange. Remove plastic reservoir and seals. See Fig 1
. Using a 12 mm socket, remove fluid control valve. DO NOT disassemble control valve.
- Press primary piston inward and remove snap ring. Remove primary and secondary piston assemblies. If piston is difficult to remove, apply compressed air to secondary outlet port to aid in piston removal. Remove pressure control valves.
