Inspection and Verification: Notes

- Verify the customer concern.
- Road test the vehicle, if possible.
- Get an accurate description of the condition.
- Identify when the condition occurs: when hot or cold, during shifting, driving at a particular speed or in a particular gear.
- Carry out the following Noise Evaluation procedures, as necessary.
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of wear or mechanical damage

- Have the customer demonstrate the concern, if possible.
- Carry out the Noise Evaluation procedures, as necessary.

- If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step. GO to SYMPTOM CHART - TRANSMISSION COMPONENT WEAR AND DAMAGE .
