Gearshift Lever and Boot: Installation

  1. Install the lower gearshift lever and gearshift lever blocks into the shift housing.
    • Install the gearshift lever blocks with the notches facing downward.
    2. NOTE: Do not use a silicone sealing compound or damage to the components can occur.
    NOTE: Do not wait longer than 10 minutes to tighten the bolts due to the rapid cure time of the sealant.
  2. Install the shift housing and shift housing-to-case bolts.
    • Apply gasket maker to the sealing surfaces.
    • Tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

  3. Install the lower shift lever boot and the 2 screws.

  4. Apply threadlock and sealer to the gearshift lever bolt, and install the upper gearshift lever.
    • Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

  5. Install the shift lever boot.
