Extension Housing Seal: Installation

Transmissions without a fixed flange

Using the Output Shaft Seal Installer, install the extension housing seal.

Transmissions with a fixed flange
Using the Transmission Extension Housing Seal Installer, install the output shaft seal.

Using the Output Shaft Locknut Socket, install a new output shaft nut.
- Tighten to 200 Nm (148 lb-ft).

Install the output shaft flange and a new bolt.
- Tighten to 130 Nm (96 lb-ft).

4WD vehicles
Install the transfer case. For additional information, refer to TRANSFER CASE .
All vehicles
Install the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT .
