Output Shaft Seal: Removal

All vehicles

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
Disconnect the rear driveshaft from the transmission and position it aside. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT article.

Vehicles with four wheel drive (4WD)

Remove the transfer case. For additional information, refer to TRANSFER CASE article.
Using the special tools, remove and discard the output oil seal.

Vehicles with rear wheel drive (RWD)

Using the special tools, remove the transmission flange.

Remove and discard the output oil seal.
