Output Shaft Seal: Installation

Vehicles with four wheel drive (4WD) 

  1. Using the special tool, install a new output oil seal.

  3. Install the transfer case. For additional information, refer to TRANSFER CASE article.
  4. Vehicles with rear wheel drive (RWD) 

  5. Using the special tool, install a new output oil seal.

  7. Apply Threadlock 262 to the threads of the transmission flange lock nut. Using the special tools, install the transmission flange.
    • Tighten to 330 Nm (244 lb-ft).

    All vehicles 

  9. Connect the rear driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT article.
