Hub Lock: Removal

Dual rear wheel vehicles
- Remove the front wheels. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES article.
- Remove the hub extender nuts and the hub extender.
- Loosen the hub lock screws 1 to 2 turns.
- Use a small pry bar around the entire hub flange to release the gasket.
- Remove and discard the hub lock screws.
- Use a small pry bar around the entire hub flange and remove the hub lock from the wheel hub.
- Remove the old gasket material completely and discard the O-ring.
- Clean the O-ring seal contact area as necessary to provide a good seal.
All vehicles
NOTE:
Wiggle the axle shaft while sliding the hub lock off of the splines to ease removal.
