Position puller (1) with mounted puller arms (2) on intermediate shaft (5) and on deep-groove ball bearing (4).
Position thrust piece (3) between puller (1) and intermediate shaft (5).
Tighten puller (1) until deep-groove ball bearing (4) can be removed from intermediate shaft (5).
Clean bearing seat of intermediate shaft (5) using a clean rag and check for damage.
If the bearing seat is damaged,

install a new intermediate shaft (5).
Mount deep-groove ball bearing (4) onto intermediate shaft (5) and press on using drift until length dimension (a) is reached.
Replace deep-groove ball bearing (4).

Pay attention to installation position.
