	Remove/install
1	Remove hub cover from corresponding front wheel.	Model 223 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) If hub cover cannot be removed, ↓ remove front wheel, remove hub cover and reattach front wheel.	AR40.10-P-1102A
2	Loosen screw (1) securing front axle shaft to wheel hub.	Model 223 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) The vehicle must be standing on its front wheels for this. Screw/bolt, front axle shaft to wheel hub	*BA33.30-P-1001-02K
3	Remove corresponding front wheel.		AR40.10-P-1102A
4	Unscrew screw (1) securing front axle shaft to wheel hub.	Model 223 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) : Replace bolt (1). Tighten the screw (1) slightly by hand.
5	Reduce pneumatic pressure of suspension struts using diagnostic system.
		The complete wheels must not touch the ground. Otherwise the suspension struts may suffer initial damage and malfunction at a later stage.	AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
6	Drain the hydraulic pressure lines of the electrohydraulic suspension using guided diagnosis.	Model 223 with code 490 (Electrohydraulic suspension) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) The complete wheels must not touch the ground. Otherwise the suspension struts may suffer initial damage and malfunction at a later stage. It is essential that the shutoff valves at the suspension struts are closed.	AR32.50-P-0042S

8	Remove brake cover plate (2).	Bolt brake cover plate on steering knuckle	*BA42.10-P-1002-06I
9	Remove wheel speed rotational speed sensor.		AR42.30-P-0717S
10	Release and disconnect electrical connector (5).	Model 223 with engine 177.8 with code ME10 (Hybrid vehicle (plug-in, PHEV)) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Model 223 with code 96B (Road noise cancellation via speakers (RNC)) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
11	Remove wheel acceleration sensor (B24/10) from steering knuckle (4).	Model 223 with engine 177.8 with code ME10 (Hybrid vehicle (plug-in, PHEV)) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Model 223 with code 96B (Road noise cancellation via speakers (RNC)) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Screw, acceleration sensor to steering knuckle	*BA33.20-P-1009-01T
12	Remove line bracket (3) from steering knuckle (4) and hang to one side with electric lines.	Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension. This will result in damage to electric lines and impair their function. Bolt, cable holder to steering knuckle	*BA42.30-P-1002-01K
13	Remove tie rod joint from steering knuckle (4).	The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used. Otherwise the ball head or steering knuckle (4) will be damaged. Nut, tie rod to steering knuckle	*BA46.40-P-1001-01M
14	Remove tension strut from steering knuckle (4).	The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used. Otherwise the ball head or steering knuckle (4) will be damaged. Nut, strut rod to steering knuckle	*BA33.20-P-1003-01T
15	Remove spring link from steering knuckle (4).	The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used. Otherwise the ball head or steering knuckle (4) will be damaged. Nut, spring control arm to steering knuckle	*BA33.20-P-1001-01T
16	Remove upper transverse control arm from steering knuckle (4).	The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used. Otherwise the ball head or steering knuckle (4) will be damaged. Nut, steering knuckle to transverse control arm	*BA33.20-P-1006-01T
17	Detach torsion bar linkage from steering knuckle (4).	Model 223 except code 490 (Electrohydraulic suspension) except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Nut, torsion bar linkage to steering knuckle	*BA32.20-P-1002-02O
18	Remove steering knuckle (4).
19		Install in the reverse order.
