Only unleaded fuels may be used for vehicles with catalytic converters and oxygen sensors!
The minimum requirements for gasoline fuels are defined in DIN standards in the Federal Republic of Germany.
- DIN EN 228 applies to unleaded fuels (Sheet 122.2)
Filling stations identify such fuel qualities with a sticker affixed to the pumps.

Leaded fuels have no longer been available since end 1996.
