Remove/Install Refrigerator Box - AR86.61-P-1010SG

Model 223 

with code 308 (Refrigerated compartment in rear passenger compartment) 

with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)

DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by welding and soldering work on refrigerant circuit of refrigerator box. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant. Never perform welding work on or near refrigerator box or compressor. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. AS86.61-Z-0001-02H

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
2 Remove rear panel trim.   AR68.30-P-4750SG
3 Release and disconnect electrical connector (8) at refrigerator box refrigerant compressor (9). IMPORTANT At least 2 h must be waited between disconnection of electrical connector (8) and disconnection of refrigerant lines (1, 2).  
4 Remove stowage box at top in rear. Model 223
with code 224 (Individual rear seats)
with code 308 (Refrigerated compartment in rear passenger compartment)
with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)

5 Disconnect refrigerant lines (1, 2) at couplings. IMPORTANT Via valves in couplings of refrigerant lines (1, 2), refrigerator box can be disconnected from refrigerator box refrigerant compressor without extracting coolant.  
6 Release and disconnect electrical connector (3).    
7 Open refrigerator box (7) and remove glass insert (4).    
8 Unclip covers (5).    
9 Remove screws (6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, refrigerator box to stowage compartment *BA86.61-P-1003-01B 
10 Carefully remove refrigerator box (7). NOTES
Ensure that refrigerant lines (1, 2) are not kinked. Refrigerant lines (1, 2) will otherwise be damaged and function of refrigerator box (7) is no longer ensured.
 
11 Install in the reverse order    
  Concluding tasks     
12 Empty refrigerant circuit of refrigerator box (7), evacuate and refill. When replacing refrigerator box (7) due to a leak in refrigerant circuit.
