Clean Fire Extinguishing System - AR86.10-P-0120SG

Model 223 

with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) 

with code Z21 (Fire extinguishing system) 

DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes from particles when blowing out extinguishing agent lines Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. AS86.00-Z-0005-01B 
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove extinguishing agent tank.   AR86.10-P-0100SG 
2 Connect compressed-air flushing connection to extinguishing agent pipe. IMPORTANT The compressed-air flushing connection for extinguishing agent lines must be obtained from the manufacturer of the fire-extinguishing system: Kidde Deugra Brandschutz GmbH, Ratingen www.kidde-deugra.com  
3 Connect compressed-air hose to compressed-air flushing connection. NOTES
Do not yet connect compressed-air hose to compressed-air supply system.
Otherwise particles from holes for the fire extinguishing agent can pose an eye injury hazard.
 
4 Remove end piece cover caps of extinguishing agent lines in engine compartment.    
5 Lift vehicle with lifting platform.   AR00.60-P-1006A
6 Remove cover caps on atomizer nozzle on underfloor.   AR61.40-P-1001S
INSPECT Check     
7 Connect compressed-air hose to workshop compressed-air supply system and pressurize with approx. 10 bar.    
8 Check extinguishing agent outlet holes of atomizer nozzles plus end pieces of extinguishing agent lines in engine compartment for exiting air. IMPORTANT The fire-extinguishing system must be cleaned outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms.  
9 Disconnect compressed air hose from workshop compressed air supply.    
CLEAN Clean     
10 Clean extinguishing agent outlet holes of atomizer nozzles plus end pieces of extinguishing agent lines in engine compartment with suitable tool. If an atomizer nozzle is too heavily soiled:

Replace respective atomizer nozzle.

11 Connect compressed-air hose to workshop compressed-air supply system and again check atomizer nozzles and end pieces of extinguishing agent lines in engine compartment for exiting air. After cleaning or replacing.
IMPORTANT Pressure approx. 10 bars.
 
12 Disconnect compressed air hose from workshop compressed air supply.    
13 Blow out engine fire-extinguishing system temperature sensor on front engine compartment lining and rear fire-extinguishing system temperature sensor with compressed air and remove dirt. IMPORTANT Contaminated engine fire extinguishing system temperature sensor and rear fire extinguishing system temperature sensor can influence the fire extinguishing system function.  
INSTALLING Install     
14 Install cover caps on atomizer nozzles on underfloor. IMPORTANT Ensure that caps are seated correctly, replace caps if necessary. AR61.40-P-1001S
15 Lower vehicle.   AR00.60-P-1006A
16 Remove compressed-air flushing connection.    
17 Install extinguishing agent tank.   AR86.10-P-0100SG 
18 Install cover caps on end pieces of extinguishing agent lines in engine compartment. IMPORTANT Ensure that caps are seated correctly, replace caps if necessary.  
CLEAN Clean     
19 Blow out engine compartment fire-extinguishing system temperature sensor with compressed air and remove dirt. IMPORTANT A soiled engine compartment fire-extinguishing system temperature sensor can influence the function of the fire-extinguishing system.
