- Open flap (11).
- Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "2" (circuit 15) and check self-test of emergency fresh-air system.
The self-test of the emergency fresh air system is performed automatically.
If the fire-extinguishing system is intact, the light-emitting diode in the emergency fresh-air system/fire-extinguishing system activation button (12) and the light-emitting diode in the emergency fresh-air system button (13) light up for 6 seconds. The warning buzzer does not sound. The emergency fresh air system is ready for operation.
If the emergency fresh-air system is defective, the light-emitting diode in the emergency fresh-air system button (13) lights up continuously and the warning buzzer sounds for 6 seconds or the light-emitting diode in the emergency fresh-air system button (13) does not light up. The emergency fresh air system is nonfunctional.
If problems are determined,

rectify the problems.
- Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".
- Close flap (11).
