During removal and installation of the engine cover (21) with cold air guide (22), forces may only be applied at the fastening points (arrows A) marked in the picture.

If this is not observed, the engine cover (21) with cold air guide (22) may be damaged.

Remove engine cover (21) with cold air guide (22) 

1. Remove cold air guide (22) from air duct of radiator crossmember.
2. Detach ball mount receptacle (5) upwards from ball head on engine (3).
3. Detach ball mount receptacle (6) upwards from ball head on engine (3).
4. Detach ball mount receptacle (7) upwards from ball head on engine (3).
5. Release ball head (8) upward from ball mount receptacle at upper air filter housing (4).
6. Engine 256 in model 214, 236

   with code M016 (Uprated engine)

   Release ball head (9) upward from ball mount receptacle at upper air filter housing (4).

7. Remove engine cover (21) with cold air guide (22).

   Install engine cover (21) with cold air guide (22) 

8. Check ball mount receptacle on upper air filter housing (4) and ball mount receptacles (5, 6, 7) for presence, damage and correct seating.

   If problems are determined,

   ↓

   rectify the problems.

   After obtaining special order.

9. Place engine cover (21) flat onto ball heads on engine (3) and ball mount receptacle on upper air filter housing (4).
10. Engine 256 in model 214, 236

    with code M016 (Uprated engine)

    Latch ball head (9) downward into ball mount receptacle at upper air filter housing (4).

11. Latch ball head (8) downwards into ball mount receptacle on upper air filter housing (4).
12. Latch ball mount receptacle (7) downwards onto ball head on engine (3).
13. Latch ball mount receptacle (6) downwards onto ball head on engine (3).
14. Latch ball mount receptacle (5) downwards onto ball head on engine (3).
15. Attach cold air guide (22) at air duct of radiator crossmember.
