The next steps are shown on model 223.1.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Grind mating surfaces on crossmember (1) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

2. Remove grinding dust.

   The following operation steps 3 to 7 are shown on the replacements on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the replacement parts on the right side of the vehicle.

3. Grind mating surfaces on upper mounting support (2) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

4. Remove grinding dust.

5. Mark separating points on lower mounting support (3) and separate (area A).

   Transfer separation points from vehicle.

6. Grind mating surfaces on lower mounting support (3) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

7. Remove grinding dust.
